I can't get my e-mail.
My e-mail gets stuck downloading message # of ##.
I can't log into the webmail.
Sometimes my computer says it can't detect a dial-tone.
I can't get online.

There are several possible reasons for this:

  1. Your account is on hold.
  2. The wrong password is being entered.
  3. There is no dial-tone. See Dial-Tone

My connection drops after 8 hours.

Our system is designed to disconnect users after 8 hours to prevent "camping". Most users will never see this problem.

Can I use my Internet connection from work and home?

Yes, but you can only have one computer connected to your account at any time. If someone is online at home then you won't be able to access your account from the office, and vice versa. You can add a second dial-up to your account for an additional $10/month.

Can I change the type of account I have?

Yes. We can change your account type at any time. We do recommend that you contact us to make the change at least 15 days before the anniversary date. This makes for a smooth transition and reduces the number of errors that can occur in the billing process.

I can't get my e-mail.

This can be related to a couple of issues:

  1. Your account is on hold.
  2. Your account is "locked".
If your account is locked you most likely just need to wait for roughly 30 minutes before trying to access your account again.

My e-mail gets stuck downloading message # of ##.

There are usually two possible reasons for this happening. Either there is an issue known as a "malformed header" which causes an error when you try to download the message with Microsoft Outlook or Outlook Express. The work-around for this issue is to log into the Webmail Untility and access your e-mail to remove the message in question. The other possiblity is that there is a very large message trying to download and the connection to the mail server timed out. Again this can be worked around by using the Webmail Utility.

I can't log-in to the webmail.

There may have been a temporary issue that prevented the system from logging you into the webmail. Wait roughly five minutes and then try again. Sometimes it simply takes a couple of attempts to log-in.

Sometimes my computer says it cannot detect a dial-tone.

There are a few factors to consider here:

  • Your modem card may be damaged
  • The phone line between your computer and the wall jack may be damaged
  • If you have a surge supressor/protector in use it may have been damaged
  • Phone service in your area may be down

If your modem is damaged you will most likely need to replace it. Modems can be purchased at most computer shops or stores such as Walmart, Best Buy and Circuit City.

If you suspect a damaged phone line simply replace it. If you still experience this issue there are other parts to check as well.

If there is a surge supressor/protector try removing it from the senario. Simply run a line directly from the wall jack to the computer.

There is always a chance that phone service is out in your area.

These are the most common reasons for this error, but there are other possible reasons.
